The club was originally formed in 1955 and after many years competing in the Plymouth and District Leagues they decided to pull out and gain entry into the Duchy League in 1998/99
The 1st team had nine successful seasons in the Duchy League culminating in winning the Premier Division in 2006/07, thus gaining promotion to the East Cornwall League Division One for 2007/08
Another successful season saw the 1st team promoted to the East Cornwall Premier Division at the first attempt, the highest level in the clubs relatively short history.
Bere Alston is a growing club and the aim of the 1st team this season will be to improve on their position of 5th last term.
The 2nd team has a fresh look to it, such is the clubs desire to develop local talent with St Anns Chapel's team moving across to play as Bere Alston Reserves in Duchy League Two having gained promotion last season, The St Anns lads had a good season in Division two last year and it is hoped that the new look Bere Alston Resrves will make another push to the top.
